DESIGN

The Superyacht Comet composed of compact forms based on unconventional structures.

LAYOUT

The design is based on a combination of the main deck and the upper deck. The advantages and disadvantages of this structure presented a challenge to me as a designer. The solutions I created brought innovations.

ISOLATED FOREDECK

The combination of the main deck and the upper deck provided an opportunity to isolate the foredeck. This allowed me to design the foredeck as the main usage area. And this large area, which is usually unused, has been transformed into a pleasure area with an infinity pool that blends with the sea. The wooden form detail turned the walls into a design element.

WINGS

The platforms on both sides of the yacht for sea access offer extra surface area and have a more organic form. This creates a more natural boundary between guests and the sea.

At first glance, the platforms appear like the yacht's wings.

Due to the identical structure on both sides, a tender bay has been positioned towards the stern for the tender.

HYBRID STERN

The yacht's stern structure features both an open layout and a design that transforms into a compact form. A telescopic gangway is positioned for boarding. The extension of the form transforms into a large jacuzzi and sunbathing platform.

CEILING AS A DESIGN ELEMENT

From a yacht user's perspective, the ceilings are the largest visible surface areas. I wanted to consider this area as a design element. This detail, which integrates with the windows and affects the yacht's silhouette, inspired the yacht's name with its dynamic form. The black coating does not significantly reduce the light during the day thanks to the form's opening to the sides. At night, it creates a starry ambiance and blends with the sky.
